Three- and Four-Strand Ply-split Braids

Ply-split SCOT braids with the appearance of three- and four-strand braids

Each "strand" of the braid consists of four cords. The interior of each strand could be a different color, but in order to retain the appearance as shown, the outlining cords (red in the photo) should all be the same color. Once you understand the basic idea, it will be easy to expand it in your own directions.
