Ply-Split Hat by Linda Hendrickson (2001)

For this ply-split hat, I used Brown Sheep knitting worsted for the cords, with about 12% shrinkage during IOT. This hat is mostly worked in variations of SCOT. There are POT triangles near the rim, with extra twist between splittings to maintain the width between the SCOT areas. I finished the hat by hand washing. It is soft and a little stretchy, but holds its shape.

About 4" high, and 10" wide at the brim, including fringe. January 2001.
