Outend -- used with a cordmaker
The outend is placed on top of the warping wand, and both are clamped to the table with a 3" C-clamp. Yarn is threaded up through the holes in the warping wand. I use two strands of 10/2 perle cotton for the cords shown on my color chart; each strand is threaded through a separate hole in the warping wand. To lay out the yarn, make a slip knot, and begin by placing the slip knot on the bottom far hook. Then carry the yarn to the matching hook on the Bradshaw cordmaker, and then back to the same hook on the outend, so four strands are between that pair of hooks. Be sure to maintain even tension while laying out the yarn. Continue to the bottom near hooks, the top near hooks, and the top far hooks. Cut the thread and tie a knot at the last hook, and be sure to maintain tension on the yarn.
