Tablet Weaving by Linda Hendrickson: Loving Kindness Inscription band
This double-faced tablet-woven band was shown in the juried exhibition "Celestial Navigation: Interfaith Expressions" at Convergence 2002 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The letters are based on Textura Quadrata, a 14th century Gothic hand, and were graphed for tablet weaving by Michael Cook.
I wove the band with 5/2 perle cotton for the background and a metallic yarn called Mellogold for the letters. There are 34 tablets for the letters, and 13 tablets on each side for the borders. 2-3/4" x 41-1/2" plus fringe. Woven in January 2002.
