The pangram "folks are just amazed by exquisite tablet-woven calligraphy" is one of several that I made up and wove for my book Please Weave a Message. A pangram is a sentence that contains every letter of the alphabet ("the quick brown fox..."), and is used to show the "look" of a script or font.
These letters are based on the typeface Legend, which was designed by Ernst Schneidler in the 1930s. I graphed these letters for tablet weaving, using as my model the version of Legend found in Written Letters: 33 Alphabets for Calligraphers Expanded and Revised by Jacqueline Svaren.
There are 52 tablets for the letters, and 10 on each side for the borders. Perle cotton, 3-3/8" x 52-1/2" plus fringe. June 2002.
