An original pangram woven in letters based on Italic

The pangram "change is unavoidable -- expect it and skillfully enjoy the squeeze of its wild embrace" is one of several that I made up and wove while working on my book Please Weave a Message. A pangram contains every letter of the alphabet ("the quick brown fox..."), and is used to show the "look" of a script or font.

These letters are based on the script Italic. I graphed these letters for tablet weaving, using as my model the version of Italic found in Written Letters: 33 Alphabets for Calligraphers Expanded and Revised by Jacqueline Svaren.

There are 44 tablets for the letters, and 10 tablets on each side for the borders. Perle cotton, 3" x 50-3/4" plus fringe. 2002.
